There was an NCS at Schwietzer Mtn Idaho in July or August of 2003
This guy carried his dog up the hill in a back pack. She has just gotten spayed so she needed to not run around. Apparently the two of them drove to the race on that guy's motorcycle.

The first thing that Eric said to me when I got to Schweitzer was that he didn't think he would be racing because he had a bad crash in his preride where his chain ring put some pretty deep punctures in his quad. I had just driven my pregnant self 7 hours and would have none of that. Thankfully Eric is a good sport and let all my yelling about how he shouldn't be using duct tape and shop towels as a substitute for bandages. He raced, and finished even though he was having a bad race. He said that he almost hyperventilated when I ran my pregnant self up the road climb next to him and flashed him. I had a pizza waiting for him in our room, but he was so sick he really couldn't have any of it for a few hours. But, he eventually recovered!
