i woke up at 430am because the neighbors decided they needed to take a shower and it was loud.
i stayed up and read for a bit then went back to sleep. i got up at 830 and had breakfast since it was a bed & breakfast.
eggs and bacon and some cereal and some suposed juice that was a bit like tang.
then i went to st paul's cathedral
. thats
pretty fun. i went up the 500+ steps to the
outdoor observation place at the top. then i went down the stairs and hung out for a bit.
then off to the tower of london
.
after telling the nice lady that not only am i unemployed
but i am under 26, she let me in for the discounted price of a whopping 8.30 pounds.
i saw the crown jewels and walked around for ever and ever and even ever. my feet hurt.
so i went to a
and called
jeremy who used
to
work with ali
who went to school with mark
and esther
who
are friends of my sister's
.
jeremy said he would come pick me up at 5, and he did! we had pizza hut pizza and
watched a movie - lock stock and 2 smoking barrels so that i could acclimate to the funny way people
talk and some other stuff - very entertaining.
then we went to babuska's - i had a budwieser
since they told me they are better in the uk than in the states, they were correct. here is where jeremy told me that i should ask for
streaky bacon for breakfast because that was the kind of bacon i am used to apparently. i decided he was just trying to pull a
fast one on me, but he said no he was serious. regardless - i never did conduct the streaky bacon experiment.
then off to turnmills
for headstart. what fun!
we had to stand in a queue to get in, to go to the bathroom and to check our coats and to get drinks!! that's a lot of queing.
so we danced and danced and danced and i got tired so i wound up going home, i took a mini cab and had to tell the guy how to
get to the jesmond hotel, but jeremy and syndi and paul and jamel and the gang
kept dancing and dancing till the wee hours of the morning.
