in february i went to hawaii with catherine and her husband, eric.

we left rainy seattle on valentine's day. thank goodness, i hate that holiday.

we got to honolulu pretty late and then had to catch a flight to maui. we took the wiki wiki shuttle.

we rented a car - a 4 door pontiac sunfire and drove to our hotel.

the people at the reservation desk just didn't get it that the three os us were not going to all sleep in

the same bed, so eventually, they gave us a room with 2 beds.

we went to the bar at the hotel and got snacks and i had a pina coloda and catherine and eric had beers.

wednesday morning was wonderful. we hung out on the patio for a bit then went to breakfast.

then we went and hung out on the beach and eventually we hung out at the pool. i got sunburned. catherine got a little

pink, but eric was a-ok cuz he put on sun block. at some point during the week we went to cheese burger in paradise for

lunch. it was tasty. i don't remeber what else we did on tuesday other than go get some golf clubs for eric because

he was going to golf on wednesday morning. so, wednesday, while eric golfed, catherine and i sat by the pool and

then eventually went to the beach and this time actually got IN the water. it was very fun and we got very burnt.

that night we went to the luau at the hyatt and catherine got drunk off of four fruit punch drinks.

thursday we went for a drive up to the volcano that was 10,023 feet high. it was pretty crazy, we were above the clouds.

maybe we went to the beach before or after then, i can't remeber. we went to dinner at some fish place with \

a great view of the water. i had shark. on friday we went snorkeling. the boat was big and we sailed for about

an hour then they put the anchor in and we went snorkeling. after i was done hyperventalating and gagging on the

snorkel, it turned out to be a lot of fun. until i got a bit of a cramp in my foot and started to think about how

what would happen if i swam too far from the boat and i had the cramp and the boat left and i was stuck there. but

none of that happened. there were no sharks or jelly fish - they told us so. but we saw a bunch of fish and a few

turtles. then we got back on the boat and we saw some whales and a spinner dolphin. we went and hung out on

the beach for a while. then we went and got ready to come back to seattle.
